Towards detecting super-GeV dark matter via annihilation to neutrinos

چکیده

Abstract The next generation of neutrino telescopes will feature unprecedented sensitivities in the detection neutrinos. Here we study capabilities a large-scale telescope, like fully-operating KM3NeT experiment near future, for detecting dark matter annihilation signals from Galactic Centre. We consider both ORCA and ARCA detectors, covering masses few GeV to 100 TeV. obtain with maximum-likelihood analysis method present them as upper limits thermally averaged cross-section into Standard Model fermions. Our projections show that sensitivity such telescope can reach thermal relic line m χ ≳ 1 TeV ≃ GeV, NFW density profile. This demonstrates ORCA- ARCA-like detectors be able perform competitive searches wide range masses. implications these striking are investigated selected particle models, where probe new parameter space.

High Energy Neutrinos From Superheavy Dark Matter Annihilation

(Dated: August 2000) Abstract Superheavy (M > 10 GeV) particles produced during inflation may be the dark matter, independent of their interaction strength. Strongly interacting superheavy particles will be captured by the sun, and their annihilation in the center of the sun will produce a flux of energetic neutrinos that should be detectable by neutrino telescopes. Depending on the particle ma...

Detecting Asymmetric Dark Matter in the Sun with Neutrinos

Dark Matter (DM) may have a relic density that is in part determined by a particle/antiparticle asymmetry, much like baryons. If this is the case, it can accumulate in stars like the Sun to sizable number densities and annihilate to Standard Model (SM) particles including neutrinos. We show that the combination of neutrino telescope and direct detection data can be used in conjunction to determ...

Neutrinos and Dark Matter

In these lectures I highlight some key features of massive neutrinos in the context of cosmology. I first review the thermal history and the free-streaming kinematics of the uniform cosmic background neutrinos. I then describe how fluctuations in the phase space distributions of neutrinos and other particles arise and evolve after neutrino decoupling according to the linear perturbation theory ...

Search for neutrinos from annihilation of captured low-mass dark matter particles in the sun by super-kamiokande.

Super-Kamiokande (SK) can search for weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) by detecting neutrinos produced from WIMP annihilations occurring inside the Sun. In this analysis, we include neutrino events with interaction vertices in the detector in addition to upward-going muons produced in the surrounding rock. Compared to the previous result, which used the upward-going muons only, the s...

Neutrinos as cluster dark matter

The dynamical mass of clusters of galaxies, calculated in terms of modified Newtonian dynamics, is a factor of two or three times smaller than the Newtonian dynamical mass but remains significantly larger than the observed baryonic mass in the form of hot gas and stars in galaxies. Here I consider further the suggestion that the undetected matter might be in the form of cosmological neutrinos w...
